- the industry of Babel. "For in one hour all this wealth has been laid waste! Alas, alas, the great city, where all who had ships at sea grew rich by her wealth! For in one hour she has been laid waste." (Rev.18:17-19) No industry of any kind will ever again be found in her.
A prophetic warning about what can strike whole cities in the future in former nuclear war, could be seen in TV on Sept. the 11th 2001. A wellplanned terroristattack did reduce the World Trade Center in New York to a big pile of rubble.
- the derailed market economy. With the help of advertising, false need was created, and short-sighted, cutthroat practices to maximize profit became their god. (More about this in the Prophetic/Technic supplement 3, will soon be released.) The Bible's own words of judgment read, "And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn for her, since no one buys their cargo anymore, cargo of gold, silver, jewels and pearls, fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet, all kinds of scented wood, all articles of ivory...spice, incense...choice flour and wheat, cattle...and human lives." (Rev.18:11-13) At this point, the text touches on the next subject, which is:
- the religious harlot, Babylon (explained in illustrations 6.1, 6.2) The word of judgment over her from the Bible is: "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! It has become a dwelling place of demons.... For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication," (Rev.18:2,3) The Holy Spirit dwells in every true Christian church, but in the harlot church, demons prevail. For this reason, the harlot has always tried to persecute those who belonged to the true church.
Now, however, the reign of this religious evil is finally over. "Then I heard another voice from heaven saying: Come out of her, my people, so that you do not take part in her sins, and so that you do not share in her plagues; for her sins are heaped high as heaven". (Rev 18:4-5).
