7 The history and future

In chapter 4, we showed the kingdom of God's history and its glorious future. In this chapter, we will describe in a somewhat unusual way the corresponding development in the world.

1. that our western culture carries a several-thousand year heritage of both good and evil, from several earlier cultures.
2. that the Devil's strategy to dominate humanity thereby influences the following areas:
   • The political powers, which in the form of world kingdoms, are often symbolized by the global city, "Babylon."
   • The economic powers, which are further commonly symbolized by the merchant city, "Tyre."
   • The religious powers, which, when they have entered into an inappropriate union with the political powers, are commonly symbolized by the "harlot Babylon," in contrast to the "pure Bride of Christ."

Truth will nevertheless ultimately expose and crush this entire evil heritage, so that the kingdom of God in its fullness can take dominion in the Millennial Reign.
