- In the paradise of Eden almost all was allowed. Nevertheless,
man believed more in the lie of the Devil than in God's word. The
consequence was expulsion into the hard and selfish world in which we
have lived ever since that time.
- Soon after, selfishness became so unrestrained that God was
forced to destroy almost all of humanity in the great flood.
- When a law-governed society began to be instituted, those
who were strong soon learned to abuse the law in order to oppress the
weak.
- Up until this time only isolated individuals such as Noah and
Abraham believed in and obeyed God.
- The Jews then became the first nation set apart for God, and
they were intended to be an example to the others. Apart from a few
short good periods in their history, the Jewish nation mostly failed,
since the majority of their people tried to keep God's laws in their own
strength.
- In our current age, every person who wants to, is invited to change their lifestyle with the power and help of God. But also now false teachers offer a "cheap grace" without the confession of sin, and a false faith lacking in good works.
- The millenial kingdom will open up for the longed after reign of peace where the lifestyle of the kingdom of God prevails, and the Devil is imprisoned. At that time it will be popular to be a Christian, but even then many will content themselves with a pretense Christianity. In this way God will have finally proven that humankind cannot become good and inwardly changed even in the very best external environment.
