Up until 1900, the Holy Spirit was the Godhead's most neglected person. Without this "supernatural dimension" Christianity, easily fades away until it resembles other religions, and fewer people become saved. But wherever the gifts of the Spirit and power for healing are released, the fading trend is reversed.
The Pentecostal movement in the beginning of the 1900's was the first wave of the Spirit. With the charismatic wave of the 60's and 70's, the message began to spread further to other churches and denominations. Currently, Christianity is growing by about 160,000 people per day, which exceeds the population growth in the third world. The numbers could reach 1-1.5 billion confessing Christians by the beginning of the 21st century.
